Step 1: The first thing you would want is to measure how long you want your custom extension cord to be. Cut about a quarter of an inch in the middle of the cord at both ends. You don’t want to strip the wires, and you just want to separate them a few inches so you won’t have a hard time plugging them inside the plug.
Step 2: If you watch carefully, there are two sides to a cord; one is ribbed, and the other is smooth. You want the ribbed cord on the big prong of the cord and the other one on the tiny prong of your vampire plug.
Step 3: Once you’ve successfully tied your wire into the vampire plug, the next step is to lock it up with the next piece of the plug.
Step 4: The next step for your custom extension cords is to get on the other side and use a female vampire plug and do the same steps again, just like you did with the first one. Now, you got yourself homemade custom length power cables that you can immediately use.
